1. Agreement to these terms
By registering for, accessing, or using SkillSwap, you agree to these Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, and the Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Age and eligibility
SkillSwap is for natural persons aged 18 or older only. Minors may not register or use the platform. You may not impersonate another person, misrepresent your eligibility, or create an account for someone who is not permitted to use the service.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for maintaining control of your credentials, and for activity carried out through your account. Do not share your password or include private payment credentials in posts, profiles, messages, or support requests.
You must promptly update information that becomes inaccurate. Protected demonstration accounts supplied for application review are not ordinary user accounts and cannot be deleted.
4. Scope of the service
SkillSwap provides interfaces for skill matching, community posts, messages, voice notes, voice/video communication, swap planning, wallet history, reporting, and support. SkillSwap is a display, organization, and communication tool.
5. Member conduct and content
You are responsible for what you publish and how you interact. Content must be accurate enough not to mislead other members and must comply with applicable law and the Community Guidelines.
You may not post or transmit harassment, discrimination, threats, fraud, sexual content, violent or illegal-trade content, private payment requests, advertisements, or attempts to move users into risky off-platform transactions. You may not pressure another person into an offline meeting.
You retain responsibility for content you submit. You authorize SkillSwap to display and process that content only as needed to operate, moderate, and support the service.
6. Skill swaps and offline activity
Members may organize mutual swaps or coin-based learning arrangements. Each member is responsible for deciding whether another member, proposed skill, schedule, and arrangement is appropriate.
SkillSwap takes no part in offline activity and bears no responsibility for it or its consequences. Prefer online sessions. If you choose to meet, use a public place, tell someone you trust, and never disclose sensitive identity or payment information.
7. SkillSwap Coins and purchases
- Coins are obtained through in-app purchase. Prices shown by the live app store apply.
- Coins are used for eligible in-app features and have no cash value.
- Coins cannot be converted to cash or transferred between accounts.
- Spent consumable coins cannot be restored by SkillSwap.
- Purchase charges and refund decisions follow the rules of the App Store or Google Play used for the transaction.
When a swap is canceled under an eligible in-app workflow, frozen coins may be released or refunded to the in-app balance according to the recorded swap state.
8. Moderation and enforcement
If you breach the law, these terms, or the Community Guidelines, SkillSwap may remove or block content, limit account activity, restrict reach, mute an account, or permanently ban an account. Measures may scale with the severity and recurrence of the violation.
You may submit one appeal with additional explanation or new evidence through the in-app appeal channel or Support. SkillSwap will re-review the available information and respond within a reasonable period.
9. Account deletion
You may permanently delete an ordinary account from Me > Settings > Delete account. Deletion takes effect immediately and has no cooling-off period. Deleted information cannot be recovered.
Active swaps are canceled, unfinished coin orders are closed, and deletable account data is removed. Reports may remain in anonymized form for safety enforcement, and records required by law may be retained.
10. Member responsibility and service availability
Members are solely responsible for evaluating user-generated profiles, posts, advice, claimed skills, and proposed exchanges. SkillSwap does not guarantee that a member will respond, that a particular match will be suitable, or that a learning outcome will be achieved.
The service may be updated, interrupted, or unavailable from time to time. To the extent permitted by applicable law, SkillSwap is not responsible for indirect losses arising from member conduct, offline activity, reliance on user-generated content, or circumstances outside reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Changes to the service or terms
SkillSwap may update these terms when features or legal requirements change. The current version and effective date appear at the top of this page. Continued use after a material update may require renewed acceptance.
