Community Guidelines

SkillSwap works when adults share knowledge with honesty, respect, and clear boundaries.

Version 1.0.0Effective May 20, 2024Contact: akselravn25@icloud.com

1. Core principles

Be honest about your identity, skills, experience, and learning goals. Communicate respectfully, accept boundaries, and keep posts and conversations relevant to skill learning. SkillSwap is for adults aged 18 or older only.

2. Hard bans

Not allowed: harassment, discrimination, threats, fraud, sexual content, violent or illegal-trade content, use by minors, impersonation, private payment solicitation, or pressure to join a risky offline meeting.

Serious violations may result in immediate content restriction or permanent account enforcement.

3. Profiles, posts, and public content

  • Profile photos, names, and biographies must not contain sexual, abusive, deceptive, or private contact information.
  • Posts, images, and videos must relate to skill learning or constructive community participation.
  • Advertising, spam, misleading claims, and attempts to funnel members to off-platform transactions are prohibited.
  • Do not publish another person's private information or media without permission.
  • Comments and replies must address the content, not attack the person.

4. Messages, voice notes, and calls

The same rules apply in direct messages, voice notes, and voice/video interfaces. Do not send unwanted sexual content, threats, repeated unwanted messages, private payment requests, or pressure for personal details.

Respect a member who declines a request, stops responding, blocks you, or asks to end a conversation. Do not use another account to bypass a block.

5. Money, coins, and fraud prevention

  • Never ask another member for a bank transfer, card payment, gift, top-up, deposit, or off-platform payment.
  • SkillSwap Coins are used only through eligible in-app workflows.
  • Offers of discounted top-ups, task-and-refund schemes, or guaranteed returns should be treated as fraud.
  • Never share card numbers, payment passwords, identity documents, or verification codes.

6. Offline safety

SkillSwap does not arrange, supervise, or participate in offline meetings. Prefer online sessions. If you independently choose to meet, use a public and busy place during the day, tell a trusted person your plan, keep your phone available, and leave immediately if anything feels wrong.

Do not pressure another member to meet or invite them to a private residence.

7. Reporting and blocking

You can report a profile, post, or message from the relevant in-app screen or the Safety Centre. A case number is issued after submission. Screenshots and notes may be attached as evidence, and necessary context may be retained for review.

Your identity is kept private from the reported member. You may also block the member. Blocked members can be managed under Me > Settings > Blocked users.

Reports are reviewed and may lead to content removal, restricted reach, muting, temporary restrictions, or permanent account enforcement depending on severity.

8. Appeals

If you disagree with a moderation result, you may submit one appeal from Report status or Help and appeals. Include an additional explanation or new evidence. The available information will be reviewed again and a response provided within a reasonable period.
