1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the SkillSwap mobile application and this informational website. SkillSwap is a skill-matching, community-posting, messaging, and swap-planning service for adults aged 18 or older.
This website is static. It does not create user accounts, run advertising trackers, or submit the support form to a web server. The support form prepares an email in your own email application.
2. Information we handle
Depending on the features you choose to use, SkillSwap may handle:
- Account details: username, name, profile photo, gender, age, biography, and contact details you choose to provide.
- Skills and preferences: skills you can teach, skills you want to learn, skill levels, availability, time zone, and matching preferences.
- Community content: posts, text, images, video, comments, likes, and related activity.
- Conversation content: messages, images, voice notes, and information associated with voice or video call interfaces.
- Swap and wallet records: requests, exchange status, coin balances, frozen or refunded amounts, transaction identifiers, and purchase status.
- Safety and support information: reports, case notes, evidence you attach, block records, appeals, and support tickets.
- Device information: device model, operating system, device identifier, IP address, logs, network state, permission choices, and technical information needed to keep the app secure and stable.
3. How information is used
- To create and maintain your account and profile.
- To rank potential matches using skills, availability, time zone, and preferences.
- To provide posts, comments, messages, voice notes, and call interfaces.
- To organize mutual and coin-based swaps and maintain wallet history.
- To review content, respond to reports, prevent harassment or fraud, and enforce the Community Guidelines.
- To respond to support requests and appeals.
- To remember your settings, consent, read state, and permission choices.
SkillSwap does not use payment card credentials. In-app coin purchases are processed by the relevant app store.
4. Storage, retention, and deletion
In the submitted version of the app, application business data and the populated demonstration state are stored locally on the device. Media selected in the app is copied into app-managed local storage so it remains available to the feature that uses it.
Necessary information is retained while an account exists. Information beyond a legitimate product, safety, or legal need should not be kept longer than necessary.
Account deletion
Ordinary accounts can be deleted immediately from Me > Settings > Delete account. There is no cooling-off period. Deletion removes the profile, skills, posts, comments, interactions, private account data, and lawfully deletable chat data. Active swaps are canceled and unfinished orders are closed.
Reports may be retained in anonymized form for safety enforcement. Information that must be retained by law may remain for the required period. Deleted information cannot be recovered.
6. Device permissions
- Camera: requested when you take a profile photo, capture post media, or open a related video feature.
- Microphone: requested when you record a voice message or open a voice/video feature.
- Photos: requested when you choose a profile photo or post media, with the system picker preferred where available.
- Notifications: used only if you opt in to relevant app activity notices.
You can deny or later change these permissions in your device settings. Core sections that do not need a denied permission remain available.
7. Your choices
You can edit your profile, skills, learning preferences, availability, and settings in the app. You can remove your own posts where the feature is available, block or unblock members, review your reports and support tickets, and permanently delete an ordinary account.

8. Adults only
SkillSwap is intended only for natural persons aged 18 or older. Minors may not register or use the service. Suspected underage accounts may be restricted or removed under the Community Guidelines.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the service or legal requirements change. The version and effective date at the top of this page identify the policy currently presented. Material changes may require renewed consent in the app.
